Season of IPL

Twelve games a night, four playoffs by summer

The league has reached the business end and our cricket desk is filing a captain’s pick, a powerplay breakdown and a points-table recalculation every matchday. Tonight RCB need 27 off 28; tomorrow MI host CSK with a net run rate they can actually move.

If you want the daily-fixture view, swing by the Live desk. If you want the tournament explainer (format, qualification paths, tie-breakers), the Competition hub has the canonical guide.

How we know

Every score, every standing and every transfer story you read here is sourced. We name the licensed feed, the data cutoff time, and the journalist who filed the copy. When a correction is needed, it lives in our public ledger—not buried in a footnote. Read the full methodology.

Frequently asked

What readers ask, fully answered

A short, honest set of answers to the questions our editors receive by email each week.

How fast is the scoreboard?

Each score pushes from the licensed feed roughly every two minutes during play. Where a feed’s reporting lags, we mark the timestamp so you’re never given yesterday’s score as today’s. During DRS reviews and technical stoppages our editorial team will hold an update until play resumes.

Where do your stats come from?

Match data comes from licensed sports-data providers and verified feeds. We disclose the data provider on each live centre and re-state the cutoff time in our match reports. We don’t recalculate stats by hand—if the feed says 168/4, we say 168/4.

Why don’t you cover sport betting or fantasy?

Our editorial remit is reporting on the match itself, not adjacent products. We don’t publish odds, we don’t host paid predictions, and we don’t monetise betting or fantasy affiliation. Our income is sponsorship, display ads and the newsletter—clear about each one.

How do I challenge a fact in a story?

Open the corrections page or reply directly to the bylined reporter. Every substantive challenge is logged, reviewed by the desk editor and—if a correction is needed—added to the public corrections ledger at /corrections. We don’t edit silently.

Are your bylines real people?

Yes. Every story we publish is filed by a named journalist on the desk, with a working email and a verified phone number for queries. Pseudonyms are not permitted. If you receive a story with no byline, it is an automated data update; treat it as such.

Can I republish comesportslive copy?

Headlines and the lede paragraph may be quoted with attribution and a working link. Anything longer—including match reports and analysis—requires written permission from the editor. Our contact page lists the editor by rotation and response time.

What happens to postponed or abandoned games?

Postponed fixtures are removed from the live schedule with an explanatory banner, not silently stretched to a future date. Abandoned matches keep their score and an editorial note explaining the rule under which play was halted and what happens next.
