Formula 1

Twenty-four races on the calendar, sprint weekends at six of them, and a set of constructors in a tighter regulation cycle than the last two seasons. Our motorsport desk follows the practice notes, the qualifying read and the post-race verdict — verified by FIA stewards’ documents and team statements, named bylines on every column.

Format

Twenty-four race weekends across five continents. Most weekends are the standard three sessions — practice, qualifying, race. Sprint weekends compress Friday practice into a sprint qualifying shootout.

📊

Standings

Drivers’ and constructors’ tables re-rank after each race. We re-publish them within an hour of the official timing sheets, with a note on any provisional or steward-amended positions.

Recent reporting

Paddock reads every Thursday, qualifying read on Saturday, race column and reactions on Sunday. Strategy-board breakdown mid-week.

Tournament grammar

The four things to read first

1

Points scale

The top ten score — twenty-five for a win, then eighteen, fifteen, twelve, ten, eight, six, four, two and one. A sprint win on Friday scores eight points; second scores seven; down to one for eighth.

2

Tyre and compound picture

Three slick compounds per weekend, plus intermediates and full-wets. We publish a per-lap stint table around the race column, not just the lap chart.

3

Pit-stop cycle

The smallest delta a pit-stop loses is in the low two-second mark. We track the undercut numbers as a separate data set rather than blending them into a single race-narrative column.

4

Stewards’ decisions

Penalty points, time penalties and grid drops are public and the documents are cited. We add a verdict column where the rule is unclear — opinion with reasoning, never anonymous consensus.

What our F1 coverage does — and what it doesn’t

We publish a Thursday paddock read, a Saturday qualifying column, a Sunday race report and a mid-week strategy breakdown. We do not run paddock gossip as confirmed news, and we cite steward documents where a decision shapes a race column.
