What we collect
- Newsletter email — when you sign up, the address you provide and the date/time you signed up.
- Reading analytics — anonymised, aggregate reading metrics (page, referrer, country) used to plan coverage and advertising.
- Corrections contact — the email you provide when reporting a correction or challenge.
Why we collect it
To deliver the briefing email, to understand which stories are resonating, and to improve coverage. We don’t sell or rent your data, and we don’t share it with clubs, federations or betting operators.
What we don’t do
We don’t run third-party advertising trackers across the website. We don’t fingerprint your device. We don’t collect precise location. We don’t use cookies for cross-site profiling.
Your choices
Unsubscribe from the briefing with a single click in any email. Request a copy of the data we hold about you by writing to the desk editor. Ask us to delete the data by sending a one-line removal request; we action within five working days.
How long we keep it
Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or request deletion. Reading analytics are retained in aggregate for up to thirteen months. Corrections correspondence is kept for twelve months for quality and audit purposes.
